Project Fearless is a space for any girl* in Amsterdam and Rotterdam! aged 9-14 to get hands-on, break stereotypes, find their voice and create an impact.
A skate film made by girls, with girls, for girls.
In our autumn 2020 Skate & Create, we produced a how-to video featuring our very own Fearless girls. Relatable and real, encouraging girls around the world to skate, create and explore new-found confidence. Keep reading about the spark that ignited this film here.
Hello, world! We are Project Fearless.
A note from our founder and a video recap from our first programs in autumn 2019! Give it a watch and keep scrolling to learn more.
Our Programs
This isn’t about simply killing time in an after-school club. All of our activities are based on outcomes, and our programs have been specifically designed to future-proof the interests, activities, passions and skills of our girls, giving them the tools and the confidence to discover who they are, and what they want to do with their lives. Our 8-week programs take place outside school hours throughout the year, and fall under the following themes:
1. MIND & movement Lab
Building confidence, strength and new abilities by encouraging girls to move their bodies, challenge themselves, take risks and learn by doing.
2. THE MAKER’S SPACE
ARTivism, printmaking, woodwork, sewing and many more hands-on activities that allow girls to be creative, try new things, get messy and feel empowered by learning to use new tools.
3. COMMUNITY & LEADERSHIP
Creating a connection between the community within our own walls and the greater Amsterdam and Rotterdam areas. We’re driven by giving back, and we instil the value of this in our girls.
Our Impact
since OUR FOUNDing IN September 2019…
girls and kids have joined our programs.
We are thinking BIG
This isn’t about simply teaching girls self-defence, or how to build or mend something. It’s about setting them up for their futures and allowing them to practise skills like bravery, adventure, risk-taking and community.
We are one-of-a-kind
We’re offering something that doesn’t currently exist anywhere else in the Netherlands, bridging the gap between an educational and community space.
Our Founder
Project Fearless was founded by Mérida Miller after recognising there was an opportunity to create a space for girls in Amsterdam to learn new skills and discover who they are, on their own terms, not who they’re expected to be. Find out more about her journey and her BIG plans for the future.
