Creating impact through creativity
We’re showing girls that no matter the size of their voice, they all have the tools to create change.
Ages 9-12
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
We can’t wait to welcome new and returning girls and gender-fluid kids to our 10th season of ARTivism! This course is for kids who want to make a beautiful difference to the world through creativity and explore finding your voice while you do.
We’ll work as a team using ARTivism (art + activism) as our instrument for action. Through interactive activities and experiments, we’ll see how individual and collective imagination and action can create change. Our goal is that you’ll leave us confident in your ability to create impact, at home, in your community or at school. So whether you’re a new or old ARTivist, you can jump into the action!
This season is called “From Trash to Treasure”
We’ll think about making the most of what we have, to care for the planet and reimagine sustainable communities and resources. We’re building on the 3 Rs sustainability principle to turn them into ReDuce, RePurpose and ReProcess, as we think there are already enough materials out there for us to work with and bring new beauty into the world…
We’re super pleased to partner with Stryker for this course, and we’ll have an exciting field trip to their office on week 5 to get inspired by the company’s sustainable mindset. And then you’ll help Stryker employees continue their good work with actionable ideas and creativity!

+Meet women from different sustainability, science, design and innovation disciplines, to hear about different paths of creative impact and leadership
+Explore sustainability and innovation topics, with hands-on experiments and activities about how they impact our lives and futures (and also a real-life business)
+Get creative and try new artistic methods and tools to communicate societal issues and potential solutions to their community and beyond
+Stretch their current knowledge of sustainability solutions and innovations, and talk about the link between sustainability and social justice
+Try out skills like illustration, engineering, sewing and weaving, paper-making and more!
+Vrouwen ontmoeten uit de duurzaamheid, science, design en innovatie sector om te leren over de verschillende aanpakken van creatieve impact en leiderschap.
+Onderwerpen ontdekken zoals duurzaamheid en innovatie, met experimenten en activiteiten die de impact op onze levens en onze toekomst laten zien (en de impact hiervan op een bedrijf)
+Op creatieve manier proberen om maatschappelijke problemen en mogelijke oplossingen binnen hun eigen community, en ver daarbuiten, bespreekbaar te maken.
+Hun kennis verbreden over duurzaamheid en innovatie, en de connectie bespreken tussen duurzaamheid en sociale rechtvaardigheid.
+Skills ontdekken zoals illustreren, bouwkunde, naaien en weven, papier maken en meer!

This course will be run in English and Dutch. Kids don’t need to be ‘advanced’ in art or science to join us — we’re here to show that everyone can get hands-on and be a scientist and an artist, they’re not mutually exclusive 🤗
Deze cursus wordt zowel in het Engels als in het Nederlands gegeven. Kids hoeven geen uitgebreide kennis over kunst of science te hebben om mee te kunnen doen — wij willen laten zien dat iedereen een wetenschapper en een kunstenaar kan zijn, het één sluit het ander niet uit 🤗
MAAK IMPACT MET CREATIVITEIT
Wij laten meiden zien dat, onafhankelijk van hoeveel impact ze denken te hebben, ze toch middelen kunnen creëren voor verandering.

OVER HET PROGRAMMA
Wij kijken er naar uit om nieuwe en terugkerende meiden en genderfluïde kids te verwelkomen voor ons tiende seizoen van ARTivism! Dit programma is voor kids die een prachtig verschil willen maken in de wereld met hun creativiteit, terwijl ze de kracht van hun eigen stem ontdekken.
Als team gaan we aan de slag met ARTivism (art + activism, kunst + activisme). Door middel van interactieve activiteiten en experimenten gaan we ontdekken hoe onze creativiteit en acties, en die van de groep, voor verandering kunnen zorgen. Ons doel is dat je aan het einde van het programma zelfverzekerd bent dat jij een verschil kunt maken, of dat nou thuis is, in jouw community of op school. Of je nou een nieuwe of juist ervaren ARTivist bent, je kunt direct aan de slag!
Het thema van dit seizoen is “Van afval naar schat”.
We kijken naar hoe we meer kunnen doen met wat we al hebben, hoe we beter voor de planeet kunnen zorgen en naar nieuwe ideeën voor duurzame communities en bronnen. We gebruiken het 3R-model voor duurzaamheid om te Reduceren (reduce), Hergebruiken (reuse) en Recyclen, want wij geloven dat er al genoeg materiaal is voor ons om mee te werken en meer schoonheid in de wereld te brengen…
We zijn super blij met Stryker als partner voor dit programma, en we hebben een leuke excursie gepland naar hun kantoor in week 5 om geïnspireerd te worden door hun duurzaamheidsaanpak. En jij helpt het personeel van Stryker met jouw goede ideeën en creativiteit!
